CSR : UPN Veteran Gandeng BBJ dan Jalatama Artha Berjangka

SLEMAN (KRjogja.com) - Fakultas Ekonomi (FE) UPN 'Veteran' Yogyakarta menjalin kerja sama dengan PT  Jalatama Artha Berjangka dan PT Bursa Berjangka Jakarta. Kedua perusahaan tersebut bergerak dibidang  bursa komoditas.

Penandatanganan Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) dilakukan di Ruang Seminar FE UPN 'Veteran'  Yogyakarta, Kamis (10/10/2013). Dari PT Bursa Berjangka Jakarta, dilakukan direktur M Binar Sakti  Wibowo, PT Jalatama Artha Berjangka oleh Dirut Jacob Ongkowidjoyo. Sedangkan UPN diwakili Dekan FE,  Drs Sijatmika MSi, karena Rektor Prof DR Didit Welly Udjianto MS sedang sakit.

Joko Susanto selalu Manager Proyek kepada <I>KR<P> mengatakan, kerja sama ini diharapkan bisa  menjembatani antara dunia kerja dengan akademik. Apalagi selama ini masyarakat hanya paham, bahwa yang  namanya bursa itu hanya saham saja. Seperti yang ada di Bursa Efek Jakarta (BEJ). Padahal Indonesia memiliki  kekayaan dalam hal bursa komoditas.

"Kita punya karet, batu bara dan sumber daya alam lainnya. Namun kita tidak bisa menentukan harga sendiri dan  harus di luar negeri. Kami mengharapkan, mahasiswa bisa lebih paham akan kondisi yang ada. Apalagi selama  ini mereka hanya mendapatkan teori ketika kuliah, tanpa tahu langsung apa yang sebenarnya terjadi di  lapangan. Untuk itu selain penandatangan MoU, juga dilakukan kuliah umum," katanya. (Awh)

U.S. Stocks Extend Drop in Final Hour Amid Retail Data



 U.S. stocks fell, with the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index extending declines in the final hour of trading, amid data showed manufacturing unexpectedly climbed last month and reports on holiday retail sales.

Urban Outfitters Inc. lost 3.5 percent as retail spending fell on the weekend after Thanksgiving for the first time since 2009. EBay Inc. climbed 1.6 percent as a report showed online spending on Black Friday rose to a record. Newmont Mining Corp., the world’s second-largest gold producer, slipped 4 percent as the precious metal’s price declined. 3M Co. lost 4.4 percent after Morgan Stanley downgraded the stock.

The S&P 500 dropped 0.3 percent to 1,800.90 at 4 p.m. in New York, after earlier rising as much as 0.2 percent. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 77.64 points, or 0.5 percent, to 16,008.77. About 5.8 billion shares changed hands on U.S. exchanges today, 4.8 percent below the three-month average.

It was the second time in two days that U.S. equities tumbled in the final hour. The benchmark index lost 0.5 percent to 1,803.98 over 20 minutes just before the close on Nov. 29, when stocks traded in an abbreviated session. Today’s drop took it down 0.4 percent to 1,798.73 between 3:24 p.m. and 3:53 p.m.

Most Asian Stocks Rise After China Manufacturing Report



Most Asian stocks rose after a gauge of China’s manufacturing output beat analyst estimates, adding to signs the world’s second-largest economy is recovering.
Metcash Ltd. (MTS) climbed 4.9 percent in Sydney after the Australian supplier of groceries to retailers posted first-half underlying profit that beat analyst estimates. Sega Sammy Holdings Inc. gained 5.1 percent in Tokyo after Goldman Sachs Group Inc. raised its rating to buy from neutral. KT Corp. dropped 6.2 percent after the South Korean phone company forecast lower dividends.
The MSCI Asia Pacific Index was little changed at 142.04 as of 9:36 a.m. in Tokyo, with about five stocks rising for every four that fell, before markets open in Hong Kong and China. China’s manufacturing purchasing managers’ index, released yesterday, came in at 51.4 for November, matching the 18-month high reached in October and beating 24 of 26 estimates in a Bloomberg News survey.
